I have only had my Savage for 3 month (new).
I know the Savage has more momentum then Virago 535 - less (horse)power though, but also less weight. It has 650 ccm, so if you compare with the Goldstar 650 it's about the same (the Goldstar weighs much more). Here in Denmark the Goldstar cost almost double as much as the Savage.
For me, the momentum (so far as i remember about 47 Nm) is important - and that you can get it at low rpm's. The Savage fullfills that after my opinion. Topspeed is irrelevant - in my case it's about 140 km/h (over 90 m/h). The Virago 535 has a higher topspeed. But there is no idea in riding over 80 m/h on bikes like that.
